60 Something and Reflective

I have a Blog! It wasn't so very long ago that I didn't even know what a blog was or it's intended purpose. I am in the process of learning a new vocabulary such as micro blogging and disambiguation. Wow! I can't believe that I have waited 60 years to blog...but of course, I have waited 60 years to do several other important things like skydiving or spend 6 months on a fishing boat off the coast of Alaska. So maybe blogging is a good place to start.

As I welcome in 2010, I am painfully reminded that as of today I have lived 22,940 days. If I live until my birthday of my 72nd year, I will have lived a total of 26,277 days. So through a very complicated mathematical formulation I have deducted that I have a mere 3,337 days left.

This one-sided tilt of the scales is undeniably validated when I look in the mirror and I no longer recognize the reflection looking back at me. I scream, "Danger, danger - stranger, stranger." But the wrinkled, sagging, greying around the edges reflection smiles back with a knowing grin that softly whispers, "The joke's on you."

So look for future blogs of learning's, random thoughts and snippets of wisdom. I will be ever mindful that I do not want to be fired, shunned or excommunicated, at least for another 802 days.

Future installments will include: "60 Something and Aging, 60 Something and Stuffed" and my best work ever, "60 Something and Pissed."

  1. I, for one, am looking forward to reading many, many more. Particularly the wisdom, as I know that you have amassed something of a treasure trove of that.
